Scratch Programming 1| Ages 7-9

Students are introduced to infinite design and coding possibilities using Scratch, a graphical programming language developed at MIT. With Scratch, kids learn how to code while creating computer games, animations, and interactive projects. Scratch is web-based and free to use, making it an easy option for tinkering with projects outside of class.

Scratch Programming 2 | Ages 7-9

In Scratch Level 2, kids create exciting games using mazes, new characters, and different game styles! We build on concepts and vocab learned in level one. Animated projects are a step higher in complexity and creativity and boost kids' confidence in designing and blocks-based programming.

 

Prerequisite: Scratch Level 1

Scratch Programming 3 | Ages 7-9

These all-new games are larger, more complex, and filled with different concepts that your child can add to their set of coding skills to start building their own custom Scratch creations and Scratch portfolio!

Scratch with Micro:bit | Ages 7-9

NEW! Students combine the functions of Scratch and Micro:bit⎯a small circuit board equipped with a motion sensor, LED display, and buttons⎯to create and CODE animations, interactive projects and games.  Scratch with Micro:bit affords students the opportunity to learn and retain coding concepts in a creative and interactive way. Minecraft 3D | Ages 7-9

Students build, modify and create games and apps with Python programming. Debugging activities help students learn specific rules about syntax and the structure of code. Once students have built their example project they are asked to customize the program to solidify their understanding and demonstrate proficiency with the skills they’ve learned.

Python Levels 1 & 2 | Ages 10-12

Once students have built their example project they are asked to customize the program to solidify their understanding and demonstrate proficiency with the skills they’ve learned. Prerequisite for level 2: Student's must have completed level 1 during the spring or summer semester.

Kids 4 Coding  Instructional Team

Roblox Studio | Ages 10-12

Using Lua programming language, students create and code their first game in Roblox Studio while learning how to use scripts, variables and loops for in-game visual effects. Projects include creating your own Obby (obstacle course) that classmates and friends can play.

Minecraft with Java | Ages 10-12

NEW! Create custom Mods! In this new Minecraft course, kids will design and code a custom Lucky Block mod and custom Biome mod. Students learn real Java coding using the Eclipse text editor. Both projects will deepen student's coding skills and understanding of conditionals, loops, methods, booleans and more! 

Python Marathon| Ages 10-12

This 10-lesson Marathon Coding Course in Python uses fun and engaging project-based lessons to teach students the core concepts of coding in Python. Coding Topics: Variables, Loops, If-Statements, Lists & Functions. Concepts: Debugging, Problem Solving, Computational Thinking & Algorithms. This course combines all lessons covered in Python 1 & Python 2.

Python Marathon | Ages 11-13

Learn core topics in computer science, music, and music technology in a fun, engaging environment with Georgia Tech's Earsketch. Learn to code in Python, while manipulating loops, composing beats, and applying effects. You can create in popular styles like dubstep and hip-hop or produce your own music from a library of sounds or record and upload your own!

Mobile App Dev | Ages 11-13

Build a fully functional app using drag & drop programming. Add buttons, text, images and even map functionality to your app! Merge design thinking & computational thinking together with next-level coding skills. Apps work across all Android and iOS devices, and can be directly published to the iOS App Store and Google Play Store.

JavaScript Level 1 & 2 | Ages 11-13

NEW! This course is an introduction to the fundamental concepts of CS and JavaScript. Students learn to code while building portfolios of special effects, video games, chatbots, and more! Code focus: Sequence, functions, arguments, objects, properties, variables, arrays, loops,  and operators. Prerequisite for level 2: Student's must have taken level 1 during the spring or summer semester.

Game Development | Ages 12-14

New! Game Maker is a professional platform used to program, design, and animate games for all modern computer platforms as well as mobile devices and consoles. Realistically animated characters are put in motion with a sophisticated physics engine. Students will be able to share their projects and will have the opportunity to distribute their game worldwide.

Web Dev BOOT CAMP | Ages 13-16

In this exciting Web Development camp, teens will learn the building blocks of HTML, CSS and JavaScript, along with the history of web design from 1990's onward. Students will create a basic portfolio and learn beginner-advanced coding skills using Glitch and Codepen.  Sample projects include an introduction to tags, elements, attributes and the structure of a basic web page, as well as functions, variables and events in JS.

Mobile Dev BOOT CAMP| Ages 14-16

New! Our new featured curriculum for Scratch includes exciting games using mazes, new characters, and different game styles! This course helps students create fun animated projects and learn foundational coding skills. At the end of the course, students will feel confident in their block-based coding and be able to build new projects with this knowledge!
