In-Person POLICIES & PROCEDURES

Kids 4 Coding is implementing a strict safety plan to minimize the spread of COVID-19. Students and staff are required to wear face masks (covering nose & mouth) while on site. Parents must also wear face masks (covering nose & mouth) during drop off and pick up. Parents will not be allowed in the classroom space.

ADDITIONAL SAFETY PROCEDURES

  • Daily temperature checks with a non-touch thermometer.

  • Students will be seated 6ft apart from each other. Activities or help sessions may bring them closer together, but they will wear masks at all times.

  • Students will not share any equipment without sterilization before and after use.

  • No more than 10 students and 2 staff members per classroom.

  • Parents are required to provide a daily health screening before drop-off. Check-in will not be possible without completing the screening questionnaire. For your convenience, you can complete the assessment through a phone app.

SCREENING QUESTIONS

  • In the past 14 days, have you had close contact with a person known to be infected with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19)?

  • Today or in the past 24 hours, have you or any household members had any of the following symptoms?

  • Fever (temperature of 100.0°F or above), felt feverish, or had chills?

  • Cough?

  • Sore throat?

  • Difficulty breathing?

  • Gastrointestinal symptoms (diarrhea, nausea, vomiting)?

  • Fatigue? (Fatigue alone won’t exclude participation)

  • Headache?

  • New loss of smell/taste?

  • New muscle aches?

  • Any other signs of illness?

  • Have you given your child any fever medications in the past 24 hours?

If your child has any of the above symptoms, except for fatigue only, we cannot allow check-in, as required by the state’s guidelines. Staff will also assess students’ health daily and not allow check-in for any visibly sick students. If the symptoms disappear, your child may return to the program after 24 hours.

SICK STUDENTS/STAFF

We will monitor student/staff health throughout the day. If any of the above symptoms arise during our program, we will notify parents for immediate pickup. The student will isolate from the group while waiting for pickup. If any child or staff member exhibits severe symptoms, we will call emergency services immediately.

ITEMS TO PACK

We recommend packing a backup face mask, 2 bottles of water (water fountains will be off-limits), and at least 1 snack for half-day and 2 snacks for full-day. A trial-size hand sanitizer would be helpful as well. Full-day students must bring a lunch. Please do not bring any food/snacks containing nuts.

DROP-OFF AND PICKUP PROCEDURES

  • Drop-off and pickup will take place outside of the building.

  • Please DO NOT enter the building without consent from a Kids 4 Coding staff member.

  • Early Pickup: Please discuss the details with the site coordinator at drop off.

  • Car riders: Please stay in your car and we will walk your child to you.

  • Walkers: Please remain in the designated area for walkers (6ft apart).

AFTERCARE

  • Kids 4 Coding will not offer aftercare this summer. All students must be picked up by 4 pm or 12 pm if registered for the half-day morning program.
